If you are having problems opening a file that you downloaded from the
website, the most likely reason is that you don't have the
proper program that is needed to read that particular file type. Below is
a list of file types that will most commonly appear, and
information about the associated program needed to read the files:
Adobe
PDF
This will be the most common file type you'll find on the
Sunrise CoB website, because the PDF format is most widely used by both MAC
and PC users. In order to view a document of this type, you'll need to
have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Click here to download the Acrobat Reader for free!
Word Document
In order to view files of this
type, you will need to use Microsoft Word, another word processing program that can
convert from the Microsoft Word format, or the free Microsoft Word Document viewer. Click here to download the Microsoft Word Viewer for free!
PowerPoint Presentations contain slides used for presentations. In order to view files
of this type, you will need to have Microsoft PowerPoint, another presentation program that can convert
from the Microsoft PowerPoint format, or the free Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation viewer. Click here to download the Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation Viewer for free!
Zip File Archive
A Zip file archive is a compressed file that contains other files. This is an easy way to download numerous
files at once. This also reduces the total size of the
download, since all files are compressed into one file. If you don't have Windows XP, in order to view the
files contained in the zip file archive, you need to "unzip" it, using a program such as JustZipIt. Click here to download JustZipIt for free!
MP3 Audio Files
MP3 has quickly become THE standard for sharing audio files. MP3 is an almost universal format that
pretty much any audio software can play. As such, there is likely no software download necessary to play this
file on your computer. However, many, if not most CD players do not recognize the MP3 format. Therefore, if
you burn an MP3 onto a CD, it will likely not play in your auto or home CD player. If you are interested in
listening to a sermon or worship service on CD, please contact the church office for a copy.
