Sunrise Church of the Brethren to host 2nd Annual Benefit Concert
Strength for the Day - Sunday, March 6 at 3 PM
The music ministry of Sunrise Church of the Brethren hosted our Second Benefit Concert.  Last year, in the aftermath of the Haiti Earthquake, we joined forces with six area churches to raise money for the Brethren Disaster Relief in Haiti.  This year, we focused on another need in our world, Alzheimer's Disease.

Alzheimer's disease currently impacts over five million Americans.  This figure does not even include the patient's families, friends, caregivers, and more that also are affected.  Just last year, Alzheimer's disease became the sixth-leading cause of death in America, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

On Sunday March 6, at 3 PM, we joined forces with the Elkton United Methodist Church Chancel Choir and friends to present an afternoon of inspirational music.  The concert had a word and song for every style and taste.  Participants and guests joined us as we continued the work of Jesus and reached out to a sector of our world that is needing our help.

A representative from the Alzheimer's Association of Western Virginia was on hand to share information and answer questions.  Donations were received for the association to further their work in our community.
